careif volunteers are individuals who have ambition and aptitude for self development and personal ambition to be involved in a local, national and international initiative. The individual will propose a programme of work, and will work alongside a fellow, director, trustee or international advisor on a project or an innovation depending on expertise and skills.

Photographs from launch of careif report on Railway Suicides

On 24 October 2013 at Queen Mary, University of London, Careif and The Cultural Consultation Service hosted a one day conference entitled Mental Healthcare: safety, security & commissioning.It also saw the launch of a report: Railway suicides in the UK, commissioned by NHS England.

Over 80 delegates from health and social care in the public, academic and voluntary sectors, listened to expert speakers, including Lord Victor Adebowale CBE, Dr Sashi Sashidharan, Dr Geraldine Strathdee, Professor Kamaldeep Bhui, Mark Smith (British Transport Police), Ian Stevens (Network Rail) and Ola Rzepczynska (Samaritans).
