Professor Rachel Tribe, a trustee of Careif, recently gave a presentation at Newcastle University on working with interpreters in mental health.

Members of the Careif Board and their associates were present at the launch of a new book, Conversations about the NHS, by our patron Professor Dinesh Bhugra.

A highly successful joint training on psychologists working with interpreters in mental health was held in London on 31 May. The event was led by Careif trustee Professor Rachel Tribe and Phil Muriel a board member of the National Register of Public Service interpreters (NRPSI) and was supported by Careif associate Emily O’Shea.

Dr Jed Boardman (Vice chair of Careif) gave a very well-received talk on Social Exclusion and Mental Health to the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology students at the University of East London.

Professor Kam Bhui and Dr Isabelle Butcher from the ATTUNE project have recently published a comment piece on Adverse Childhood Events in the Lancet Psychiatry.

Careif trustee Dr Valsraj, delivered the Professor Dr D M Vasudevan Endowment oration in Kerala, South India on 4 March 2023.
